A thousand years ago, this would probably have been a pretty nice place to live...I find it amazing the actual condition of most of the structures of these ancient buildings near Angkor Wat...and what is even more amazing is that they are still finding these wonderful buildings in the jungle today hidden for over a thousand years...

Very beautiful place to be. I just wonder " How did they do it?" :-)

Cheers,

It's amazing that so much detail and art could have been created at that time - before computers and fine/precise machinery!
ReplyDeleteLucky, lucky you to be able to see it and photograph it in person.
Many of the pillars (if you look closely) have small holes in them and it's been theorised that workers probably carried them around using wooden pegs. Some depictions on the walls of Angkor also suggest that the Khmer employed the service of elephants for heavy lifting!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot. I would love to see something like this one day. I find it amazing too buildings like this are found in the middle of a jungle. Fascinating.
