I tried three nights in a row to get down by the river to get this shot, but dinner plans and hanging out with non-photographers always prevented me from getting there. So, on our last night in Rome before heading back home, I told my wife I was going to head out on my own to get the shots I wanted without being hassled to "hurry up"...after a late dinner, Tika took a taxi back to the hotel, and I ran off and went running around Rome with my Leica and tripod in hand trying to get to all the spots I could...this was my last stop, and it was so peaceful down by the river and a glorious night (but really black sky)...

Bela Roma! Beautiful shot...
Oh wow, a perfect reflection!
That is a truly breathtaking photograph. I am so glad I stumbled across your blog that one time...

Myriam
Beautiful. Marvellous shot.
Just look at all the golden light! Incredible reflection, too! Love it!
Beautiful night, some reflections are spectacular! Greetings.
Stunning, simply stunning. Glad you were able to get away from other obligations long enough to indulge your itch...
Hi Scotty, I came across this amazing photo thanks to a mention by Owen. I love the bridge and the reflection. Coinsidently my recent blog photo is very similar in subject (a european bridge over water at night) and situation. I also sent my "hurry up wife" back to the hotel while I photographed Lucerne at night. :)
This would be perfect photo for Weekend Reflections. (Weekend Reflections is hosted at Newtown Area Photo) This week's version lasts until 11pm est but we start a new one every Friday.
You are welcome anytime!
Awesome, romantic lighting and love the touch of blue for contrast!
