I only had one shot of this Moray Eel...after I fired my strobes, he dove into his hole...usually, they stick around for awhile, and are not that shy...I think he didn't like my new mask I was wearing...or maybe I just smelled bad...you know, wet humans never smell good...

Two Butterfly Fish Swim Around Brain Coral
I was close to the end of my dive, just hanging in shallow water burning off nitrogen...
Might as well fire off a few more shots while doing my safety stop...
I didn't even notice the two Butterfly Fish when I took the photo...I just liked the contours of the brain coral, and was concentrating on that when I took the photo...

Skywatch Friday - Singapore American School
Ok, I did manage to find a photo to post for Skywatch Friday...
I am VERY late in posting, however....I usually post my SWF shot on Thursday night...
I was in Singapore the past four days coaching a softball team in a tournament at Singapore American School. Of course, as usual, I always have my eye out for nice skies...
Have a great Friday (and weekend), and be sure to visit all the other great skies from around the world...

Left My Photos At Home
Since I have no internet at home, I have to prepare my photos the night before, and then make my blog posts at work...I had prepared a bunch of photos including my "Skywatch Friday" shot, but they didn't get transferred to my other disk for some reason. I came to work this morning to post my shot, and....none of my photos I had worked on were there...
So this reef shot will have to do for today...

Another Shot From Under The Pier
When we moored the boat for a few minutes at this pier, there were a few kids hanging off the side with their hand-made fishing poles...I peeked over the side of the boat and could not believe how many fish were below in the clear blue water. I grabbed a partially used tank of air and my camera, and dropped in over the side...the view looking up towards the surface was unreal...

Ghost Pipe Fish
There are many varieties of Ghost Pipe Fish...I had been hunting for this one for many years. They are not rare fish, but they are very difficult to find. They blend into their environment very well. Lucky for me, I had a divemaster that knew where this one hung out, and was able to find it for me. They are tricky to photograph as they are always turning sideways and moving. I took about 40 shots of it, and was lucky to get a good shot...and even more lucky to have him posing in front of the red coral...

A Weekend in Borneo
We got some cheap flights to Kuching, Malaysia (the Malaysian side of Borneo or Kalimantan) this weekend, so took advantage and spent the weekend in a new city...
One of the highlights was going to one of the National Parks, hiking into the rainforest and spotting a couple of wild Orangutans...
These two photos are of wild Orangutans, and NOT in a zoo...very cool...

A Return to My Favorite Beach
Years ago, I took a photo of a lone palm tree over this beach (CLICK HERE for that photo)...
I took a walk on the same beach to re-visit that tree. I went to the very spot, and the tree was no longer there...I am pretty sure it is the tree trunk you see in the foreground of this photo...it was a sad moment, but life goes on...
In its place is another palm tree reaching for the ocean...I am sure the next time I return, it too will fall into the sea...

Klaus and His 30 Designs in 30 Days
You have probably noticed my new banner for this blog...it was created by Klaus (using my photo, of course). He has also sent me a new template for this blog that I will install in the next few days (didn't have the time to install before I leave for my trip tonight). I know a great deal about photography and Photoshop, but I am pretty clueless when it comes to html, style sheets, templates, and web design...
Klaus is a brilliant graphic designer (and photographer), and can turn your blog into something that is unique and different from all the other "blogger" or "wordpress" sites...and you don't have to be an expert at html to install his template...
He has an interesting offer that I took him up on...and you should too...
Check it out HERE...
The Most Unique Dive In The World
This photo was taken in the ocean, believe it or not. See the jungle above the water?? Is that cool or what??
This dive is called, "The Passage", and it is the most unique dive in the world in my opinion. There are all of these mushroom type, limestone islands scattered around the islands of Raja Ampat. The ocean rips in and around these islands like a river. The current is very strong, but you just glide along the sides, and then duck into protected bays...there are huge fan corals right next to the surface, and you look up and see the jungle above....
Very wild stuff...
