My patience paid off on this shot. My buddy and I were sitting in the safari jeep watching this small water hole in Namibia. There were a bunch of zebras standing around the water, and there were a couple of lions and some cubs near by...animals would cautiously approach the water while standing guard watching the lions (who seemed to care less about the animals). First there were three zebras sipping water, and I was wondering if a few more would line up and take a drink...then there were four, then five...but, they would never have their heads down at the same time, and there was a sixth one walking behind the other five messing up the composition. Finally, the sixth zebra walked to the left of the others...and then the waiting game came started as I waited for an eternity for all six zebras to dip their heads down for a drink. It happened for only a second, and I got the shot...right afterwards, the lions made some kind of move, and all six zebras took off...that is Africa for you...

Well captured Scotty. You were at the right place at the right time. Beautiful shot :-)
Cool picture! Its almost hard to tell where one zebra ends and the next one start :)
This is one of the best photos I have seen today.
I face the same line-up problems here with birds and sometimes have to wait a while.
You gotta stop that. I can't afford falling from my chair all the time, I see your pics. My back can't either.
Perfection!
Cheers, Klaus
awesome
Scotty: How many zebras does it take to keep the crocodile confused. As many as you captured.
This was amazing. Your patience did pay off. I thought it was a perfect Photoshop job until I read your post. This is an amazing capture, probably one of those once in a lifetime shots.
Very cool.

A good example of how patience does pay off after all!!! This is a brilliant shot!
I can't recall how I found my way to your blog - a week or two ago.
I just love your photos... I couldn't no longer just pop in, admire them without leaving a little comment. I've just been so impressed seeing these photos I've felt a little shy...
