Skywatch Friday - Sunset in Aceh

The beauty of nature mixed with the destruction of nature...

This photo was taken about a month after the tsunami that hit Aceh on the day after Christmas in 2004...

wow certainly destroyed, but a beautiful sky aftermath

It is as though nature has no idea of the death and destruction it has just visited upon the area. Quite an eerie sky, Scotty.

It is so hard to believe that in such destruction there could also be such beauty. This is an amazing photo.

That's just too surreal, but brilliant.

It's so surreal. Dahli could have painted it. Still, somehow there is always beauty after disaster. If there weren't, who could go on?

It's a strangely beautiful photo of such a sad scene.

Surreal is a good description. Beauty and tragedy.

"Louis" has been buried deeper than his cowbell in work - and will be for the next month or so. He hasn't paused to say 'hello' when he has stopped by.

Despite the disaster in Aceh, your photo looked beautiful and it looked exactly like a painting.

Very nice photo. I am just now getting around. For some reason my computer would not let me open up the links from the skywatch page on Friday.

Amazing how even in devestation the mind has a chance to relax if only for a brief moment in a beautiful sunset.

Horrible destruction, but even in destruction things can be so absolutely beautiful. The colors in this photo are splendid.
