Nap In a Becak

We were driving down the streets of Jogyakarta when I spotted this Becak driver taking a nap next to some cool graffiti. I like graffiti, and I like becaks. I snapped this shot from my car window while waiting at a stop light. Sure pays to have your camera with you at all times and easily accessible. I had to crop out a motorcycle driver who drove past me when I took the shot...

Fabulous photo. I am still trying to train myself to take a camera everywhere I go. I'm as yet untrained, however.
I'm sure the driver must be used to the discomfort of his sleeping position, but it would sure keep me awake if I tried that!
I'm fascinated, however, by the graffiti. I've often thought of the amount of talent wasted on the sides of boxcars and on highway overpasses here in Canada. It is interesting that graffiti is worldwide. What a talent pool for Disney, etc., if all that effort were harnessed.

Too bad that this conference is not complete, however it is a spectacular image, with a clever translation of the colors. Greetings. Elena.

Maybe he was just kicked back admiring the graffiti also ? Cool graffiti, in any case, looks like there is more than one layer of artwork there...

This is sublime. There are many photos of grafitti, but with the human and bike element which tells of the culture - it's great.
