Skywatch Friday - Sunrise in Nepal

It was a VERY cold morning, and we were packing our bags for the long hike down from Annapurna Base Camp Christmas morning last year...I looked up and saw this orange cloud...grabbed my camera (almost slipping on the ice to get it), and got one shot before the orange left the cloud...it was literally only seconds before the cloud turned greyish white...

Quite uncanny... would have been fascinating to see a whole sequence to see how the colour changed, but I'm glad you made it to your camera in time to grab this shot!

You seem to get around, Scotty. Mountain climbing is an immense undertaking and I'm sure photography under those conditions is fairly complex so the image you've given us is all the more amazing. Have a great weekend.
